JOURNEY.
Each year thousands of visitors arrive to see the great Volta Lake and spend a few days to enjoy the natural beauty, tranquility and panorama. It is the largest reservoir by surface area in the world and the fourth largest by volume. It lies along the Greenwich Meridian and completely within the country of Ghana. The lake's northmost point is close to the town of Yapei, and its southmost extreme is at the Akosombo Dam, 520 kilometers downstream from Yapei.
